BOSTON 2010 CRITIQUE. IRISH RED AND WHITE SETTERS

Thanks to all for the splendid entry and a very big thanks to the hardy souls who arrived amid our bleak mid winter.

It was my privilege to have 16 dogs to judge all presented in absolute super condition.

1st Mrs Waltons Gallybob Gold Standard JW have watched this boy closely since entering the ring as a puppy good strong head correct ear set good reach of neck good front and rear angulation level top line moved with drive and a good stride I seriously considered him for reserve best dog just needs a little more maturity.

2nd Bayne’s Corranroo Crossfire better in colour than 1 good angulation level top line moved well but not with the same drive as 1

1st Kath Griffins SH CH Corranroo Connexion a big favourite of mine presented in wonderful condition. Good strong head lovely expression good reach of neck good front and rear angulation, good colour good tail set. Took him a while to settle into his movement but when he did he moved with drive and a super stride.

Pleased to award him BD and BOB. He did not disappoint in the group making the cut of Eight.

2nd Bayne’s Corranroo Casanova Smaller dog than 1 good shoulders correct front and rear angulation moved well but not with the drive of 1 presented in overall lovely condition.

3rd Ward’s Caispern Nicolaus Silver Cum Copperwhite JW SHCM another favourite of mine super head and shoulders good level top line moved out with real drive just lost out to 1 & 2 today.

What a difficult but fun class to judge all could easily swap places on another day.

1 Callaghan’s Mizen Cait Via Laoirebay (IKC)

Sweet head lovely eyes and expression good reach of neck just loved her overall shape and size. Moved nicely pleased to award her BP

2 McDonald’s Roanjora Chianti slightly more mature looking young lady stronger in head good shoulders and rib cage let down slightly on the move on another day will quite easily swap places.

1 Barry’s Rustasha Rising Royal Liked this young lady she looked a real picture in profile sweet expression good front good spring of rib. Good top line on the day was just let down on the move probably did not not like the synthetic floor surface.

Class of the day 6 quality exhibits depicting all that is best about these lovely dogs

1 McDonalds Courtdown Summer Breeze Over Roanjora took me completely by surprise she continuously caught my eye from the moment she entered the ring. She was presented in super condition a real credit to her owners. Sweet feminine face and melting expression lovely front just right in the pastons super depth in chest good spring of rib good strong hind quarters and not overdone in stifal. Was happy on the move keeping a level top line. The icing on the cake she was in wonderful coat and superb in colour so pleased to award her BB just missed out to the dog in the challenge.

2 Bayne’s SHCH Corranroo Continental it was her first time back in the ring after maternity leave. She was in super fit condition a lot to like about her lovely head and expression good angles front and rear good bone and muscle tone just lost out on movement today RBB

3 Barry’s SHCH Shireoak Hurricane Ruby Rustasha (Imp Can) another wonderful exhibit everything as been said before about this lady of undoubted quality however today was not one of her best particularly in coat and on the move I am sure she as many more good days to come.
