Critique
Another pleasing entry, with a couple of different types evident. Colour is improving steadily if this entry to day is anything to go by, but we still can't throw the baby out with the bath water so to speak quite just yet, when confirmation and movement are also part of the dilemma of judging this fine breed. Still a few butterfly noses creeping in and dodgy feet.
JUNIOR DOG (6)
1 Bayne's Corranroo Crossfire. Typy young male, loved his head shape and balance, good ear set, liked his reach of neck and good dimensions to body. Pleasing forehand and very good hind angulation, excellent colour, moves with drive and good reach. Should have a bright future.
2 Pettifer's Vanders Vita Di Riley Con Crosswest. I thought this young male had an excellent outline, where everything blended nicely together, built though on slightly finer lines than my winner. Has a good head also, pleasing stop and shape to skull plenty of work, good front and feet, looks well in profile movement, just lacked a little maturity today on 1and not quite the hind angulation.
3 Blackmore's Taniswood Dirty Dancer At Courtdown.
NOVICE DOG (1)
1 Pettifer's Vanders Vita Di Riley Con Crosswest
POST GRADUATE DOG (3)
1 Wade's Oldestone Snowstorm. Stylish dog a quality male, with a super head and such a beautiful expression, excellent reach of neck and correct topline, good spring of rib, strong loin, best of bone and feet, good hindquarters, strong rear pasterns, just needs a bit more time to develop but lots to like, would like a little bit more upper arm angulation, just to complete the picture.
2 Barry's Rustasha Red Hot Rhumba A bit of a handful today for his very sporting owner. Liked his general appearance, quite well put together with good colour, has a balanced head and decent shape to muzzle, pleasing neck and shoulders, strong topline, down to a good croup, graceful sweep of hind quarters. Moves with drive a little untidy in front, compared to the class winner.
3 Collins' Casafelice Elliottdale at Forestpoint.
LIMIT DOG (3)
1 Ryan & McDonald's Berryessa Royal Affinity of Ryemills JW. Balanced masculine dog of good type, perhaps a strange thing to say that I would like a little more red on him, but never the less, very pleasing outline, definitely my interpretation of athletic build. A good head and dark eye, good ear set, good shape to neck, excellent shoulders good depth of chest and width correct, carrying just the right amount of weight, well muscled, presented very well. A dog which moves well and commands attention. Res CC.
2 Lipscombe's Kellizlot River Legend. Another masculine dog of excellent type, balanced outlook, very good work in skull, dark eye, good expression, good reach of neck, but a little throaty compared to my class winner. Good front, pleasing bone, decent shape to body, good hind angulation. Moved very well with drive and class.
3 Bayne's Corranroo Casanova.
OPEN DOG (6,2)
1 Tong's Kellizlot Master Magician ShCM. I liked this strong male, definitely a powerhouse on the move, without lumber and suggesting a true athlete, I thought he was the total package today, very good head and lovely expression with a nice dark eye of the correct shape, without being at all harsh. Plenty of work in his head and decent stop. Good reach of neck of excellent shape, correct topline, strong, held well on the move. Good shoulder and upper arm angulation, well ribbed body, good depth of chest and width. Short coupled, shown today in good coat but not excessive. Moved very well in profile, drives off from strong rear pasterns. Well presented. In tip top condition.
2 Valentine's Sh Ch/Ir Sh Ch Tullamore Ted JW EW09. Thought this dog would be my winner, a very glamorous male in superb coat and colour just perfect. I would like a little more length of leg for perfect balance, but his coat length did not help. I loved his head and expression his confirmation and general shape, he moved quite well, but could have been affected by the heat, not quite the oomph of the winner.
3 Wade's Sh Ch Casafelice Arles Merino.
PUPPY BITCH (1)
1 O'Connor's Caispern Maid In Ireland. Stood alone and quite a mature bitch, Loved her pretty head and soft expression, very good in neck, strong level topline, bodying up quite nicely, correct tail set, could be a shade wide in front when coming towards me, but it's early days yet. Has moderate hind angulation, but needs to strengthen in rear pasterns. Moved in a typical puppyish fashion too many nice smells on the ground. BEST PUPPY.
JUNIOR BITCH (2)
1 Goldsmith & Brown's Taniswood Summer Rose. Not a bad shaped bitch at all, really pleasing head and expression, good reach of neck and good lay of shoulders, correct topline, good depth of body and underline, well muscled hindquarters with good bend of stifle, covers the ground in a rather sluggish fashion, which is a pity. More work at training for this young lady.
POST GRADUATE BITCH (4,1)
1 Butcher's Rustasha Red Hot Ruby. Smart bitch, built on racier lines with a very good outline, good angulation fore and aft, really sweeping hindquarters, good depth of chest, pleasing straight forelegs, but would like slightly better feet. She has the sweetest head and expression, a real joy. Moved and shown well.
2 Barry's Rustasha Rising Royal. Litter sisters and to be honest I thought she might be my winner when she entered the ring, but she just would not behave, super outline, real good colour with depth to the red, in between coats at the moment and needs to develop more in body, when of course she settles down she will be useful.
3 Knox & Jakins' Coolfin Molly Malone.
LIMIT BITCH (6)
1 Howatson's Whispers About Vanders. A bitch out of the top drawer, who looks that she could work really hard for long periods at a time, strong well put together, has symmetry of parts which blend together really well. Oozes type and personality, uses her tail really well particularly on the move, best of legs and feet, strong body shape, and loin, plenty of width of second thigh, very good colour. On the move she covers the ground with ease. Style all the way.
2 Goldsmith & Brown's Taniswood Who's That Girl. Liked this typy bitch also, beautiful head with a good eye, excellent neck and shoulders, good depth and width of chest, good spring of ribs, not quite the tailset of the winner. Moved quite positively.
3 Housby's Tullamore Tiggywinkle.
OPEN BITCH (6,1)
A super class with some quite exceptional bitches.
1 Barry's Sh Ch Shireoak Hurricane Ruby Rustasha (Imp). This bitch really took my eye for type, conformation and soundness, so very feminine, lovely head with good stop and decent expression, good ear set and work in the skull, reachy neck, good forehand and body shape, correct topline and tailset, good hind angulation, strong moderately short hocks, excellent colour and coat length, Moved with good head carriage and uses her tail well. CC and BOB. Pleased to see her shortlisted in the group.
2 Tong's Kellizlot Star Attraction ShCM. Larger framed girl, but everything was in proportion, Very nicely shaped skull and muzzle, lean under her eye, good stop, has an excellent reach of neck and good lay of shoulders, correct topline, croup and tail set, good spring of ribs and strong loin, good hind angulation. Covered the ground well but lacked the sparkle of the winner.
3 Blackmore's Sh Ch Corranroo Celtic Breeze Over Courtdown ShCM.
