Critique

PUPPY DOG

1st CORRANROO CROSSFIRE (MR G & MRS J J BAYNE), BP, a most promising young male, broad skull with ample dome and a square and clean muzzle, dark expressive eye, well set and carried ears, muscular neck of moderate length, pleasing lay of shoulder, strong oval bone, deep body, development of hind quarters is commensurate with his young age, one that should do well in full maturity.

2nd VANDERS VA VOOM AVEC WROXHAM (MRS E E WALKER), another promising youngster, pleasing head properties, pleasing outline and proportions, good neck, fair spring of rib, should finish well but not yet as forward in development as winner.

3rd CHARNBOUROUGH MARATHON MAN AT FORGEWAY (MR T D & MRS N HARGREAVES).

JUNIOR DOG

1st GALLYBOB GOLD STANDARD (MRS S M B WALTON), not really co-operating with his handler, but this is a quality youngster with a lot of breed type and character, really pleasing head properties with a broad skull and a square and clean muzzle, he has a kindly round eye of good colour, his neck is muscular and of moderate length, pleasing construction of his front and rear quarters, correct bone and feet, excellent coat and colour.

2nd OLDESTONE SNOW WIZARD (MR & MRS D S WADE), appeals greatly for outline and body proportions, a good size, good feet and bone, deep chest and well spring ribs, firm and strong back, good breadth of skull with ample dome, just not quite the finish of muzzle or softness of expression of the winner.

3rd CASAFELICE ASKANIAN (MR I & MRS G LAMB)

POST GRADUATE DOG

1st LAOIREBAY OCEAN SUNSET (MR M I & MRS W E TAYLOR), a free mover with a pleasing head, eye and expression, muscular neck, deep brisket, good spring of rib, a little loose in elbow and slightly long in loin.

2nd RUSTASHA RED HOT RHUMBA (MR B J & MRS S A BARRY), perhaps more typical in outline and proportions than winner but has steeper angles in his front and rear assemblies and so moves on a more restricted length of stride, good breadth of skull with ample depth of muzzle but perhaps a slightly harder expression than winner.

LIMIT DOG

1st CORRANROO CONNEXION (MRS K A GRIFFIN), CC & BOB, for me he was the find of the day, such a typical head, eye and expression, wonderful flow and symmetry of outline, correctly constructed front and rear assemblies, strong neck, firm top line, strong loin and couplings, well set croup, strong quarters with a good bend of stifle and well let down hocks, a perfectly set on and beautifully finished tail, excellent bone and feet, very stylish and ground covering action.

2nd CORRANROO CASANOVA (MR G & MRS J J BAYNE), litter brother to winner, another very impressive male of good breed type and balance with a flowing and symmetrical outline, muscular neck which sits well on his well laid shoulders, a full and well sprung ribcage, firm backline, strong loin, well set and carried tail, well proportioned skull and muzzle but not quite the expression of his brother nor quite the same style on the move but nonetheless a most pleasing exhibit.

3rd TULLAMORE TROUBADOUR (MRS M SIERAKOWSKI).

OPEN DOG

1st SH CH RYEMILLS DEERSTALKER OF BERRYESSA JW (MR J & MRS D JONES), Res CC, the second such award from me for this very correct example of the breed, like the CC winner he presents a picture of quality, balance and symmetry, lovely headpiece, a clean and muscular neck, full and well spring ribcage, firm top line, well coupled together, well set tail which he carries and uses well, a most worthy champion.

2nd TULLAMORE TED JW (MRS J F VALENTINE), younger dog whose best is yet to come, really appeals in head, eye and expression, has a symmetrical and flowing outline, deep well sprung rib cage, firm backline and he moves on a fluid stride, just not quite the strength of loin and rear quarters of the winner.

3rd SH CH CASAFELICE ARLES MERINO (MR & MRS D S WADE).

PUPPY BITCH

1st TANISWOOD PRECIOUS JADE AT KOLFOR (MISS K R K HILL), a little light in condition but having said that she is very typical in many respects, she has a well balanced and feminine head, well set and carried ears, her front and rear quarters are well angulated, she has a well spring rib cage, a firm top line and is well coupled with a pleasing tail set and is a pleasing mover.

2nd CHARNBOROUGH GLAMOUR GIRL (MRS M E SHERRATT), giving a lot away in age in this class today, she has a pretty and feminine head, her body shape and proportions are as required, thought she was very promising and has a lot potential for the future.

3rd CAISPERN MAID IN IRELAND (MRS G O'CONNOR).

JUNIOR BITCH

1st GALLYBOB GOLD CHARM (MRS S M B WALTON), litter sister to the winner of the junior dog class, a very pretty and feminine exhibit with a pleasing head, eye and expression, symmetrical and flowing outline, pleasing feet and bone, well let down hocks and pleasing turn of quarters with an ample lay of shoulder.

2nd CASAFELICE CORMO AT CHARNBOROUGH (MRS M E SHERRATT), giving her handler a hard time and not really wanting to be gone over, a good size with pleasing head properties, quite pleasing for outline and body proportions, never really settled to show her paces on the move.

POST GRADUATE BITCH

1st TULLAMORE TIGGYWINKLE (MRS Y HOUSBY), an absolutely bomb proof exhibit, a very typical head, eye and expression, presents a pleasing outline with a well proportioned body showing ample depth and strength, good bone and feet, well turned quarters and low set hocks, gave a good account of herself on the move.

2nd RUSTASHA RISING ROYAL (MR B J & MRS S A BARRY), very unhappy with the somewhat cold and windy conditions and not giving of her best on the day, a feminine exhibit, good neck and top line, strong loin, pleasing croup and tail set, would have preferred a shade more definition of stop.

LIMIT BITCH

1st COPPERWHITE CORDELIA (MRS L R WARD), very feminine with pleasing head properties and a symmetrical and well proportioned body showing the breed typical outline, fair bone and substance, adequate front and rear assemblies and a fair mover.

2nd SHANNONLEE THE ROCK WREN (MRS J & MRS J S WEBB & LOWE) nicely headed and with a pleasing outline in profile, carrying too much weight and her front assembly could be improved, not moving as I would like on the day.

OPEN BITCH

1st SH CH WROXHAM MERRY MAID (MRS E E WALKER), CC, another I have judged previously and was delighted to see that she has  now come to full maturity and has attained the promise she showed as a youngster. By the same sire and as the dog CC winner and she displays the same symmetry and balance of outline and construction, has a very pretty feminine head with a delightful eye and expression, super neck, well laid shoulders and well bent stifles with low set hocks, she shows good depth and strength of body, has a firm top line and strong loin and moves with a pleasing gait.

2nd SH CH SHANNONLEE THE SKYLARK JW (MRS J WEBB), Res CC, another top notch exhibit, lovely head, super expression, deep and strong body with pleasing balance and construction, slightly more compact in outline than the winner but retains fluidity of movement, not easy to choose between two such super girls.

3rd SHIREOAK HURRICANE RUBY RUSTASHA (IMP CAN) (MR B J & MRS S A BARRY)
